There are a lot of popular sayings and proverbs for different situations. Your parents or grandparents have probably introduced you to most of them. They may sound ridiculous, but it is a little something we pass on to other generations.
In this blog post, we're not going to talk about such proverbs and sayings. We'll be focusing on the ones that are gambling related. We already did mention some of them in one of our post about gambling puns, which we recommend you have a look at. And yet, we decided it would be a good idea to add more in a separate article. Popular Sayings Gamblers Use
This might be a rather short blog post but we still hope you find it useful. We’re going to mention some of the popular gambling sayings that generations of gamblers remember or are just learning. Most of them are from different origins and different countries. We’ll do our best to categorise them so that you’re not confused. Starting with:
Traditional Proverbs
Traditional, very popular, regardless of the country you’re from, you’ve probably heard them at least once.

Chinese Proverbs
We’ve explored different cultures, different sayings. Now it’s time to end with a bang! Here’s what Chinese people say:
- At the gambling table, there are no fathers and sons.
- Reform a gambler. Cure leprosy.
- He who can persuade someone not to gamble has earned money from him.
- If you must play, decide upon three things at the start: the rules of the game, the stakes, and the quitting time.
